Avery County is seeking qualified contractors to restore and/or replace damaged water access points and dry hydrants used for fire suppression, as well as restore access roads or approaches to water sources to ensure year-round accessibility for fire apparatus. The scope of work includes developing a plan for restoration or replacement of damaged water access points and dry hydrants, restoring or replacing roads, drives, or clearings for safe and reliable fire department access, ensuring all work complies with the North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, and providing documentation, mapping, and photographic evidence of completed work. Instructions to bidders include submitting a company profile, relevant experience and references, a detailed project approach and methodology, a timeline for completion with key milestones, an itemized cost estimate, and proof of insurance and applicable certifications or licenses. Proposals are evaluated based on experience with similar projects, quality and thoroughness of the methodology, cost-effectiveness, ability to meet project timelines, and references or past performance. Proposals must be submitted electronically in PDF format.
