Site work and paving for a road / highway in Danbury, Connecticut. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

Sealed Bids will be received by the Purchasing Agent of the City for road maintenance and surfacing services. The City is an equal opportunity and affirmative action purchaser, and bids are encouraged from all vendors, including those owned by minorities and women. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to award the contract, unless specified otherwise, within thirty working days to the bidder deemed to be in the best interest of the City. The State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Roads, Bridges, Facilities and Incidental Construction, form 817, division II and II as amended, will be the basis of Technical Specifications for this work and any exceptions, additions or deletions as indicated below. Whenever the reference is made to "State" of "State of Connecticut" in Form 817, it shall mean the City of Danbury. Whenever reference is made to "Department", it shall be taken to mean Department of Public Works, City of Danbury. Whenever reference is made to "Engineer", it shall be taken to mean City Engineer, Director of Public Works or Highway Superintendent, or an authorized City of Danbury representative The Contractor shall furnish all labor, tools, supplies, trucking, environmental protection, seeping, signage, traffic control, secondary sweeping, clean-up and any other facilities and means necessary or proper to perform the operations as described. It is the contractor's responsibility to meet the standards referenced herein. The contractor will be required to provide proof of compliance with Code of Federal Regulations (OSHA) related to the work to be performed, for each employee on the jobsite. It will be the contractor's responsibility to assure that OSHA compliance is maintained by the contractor employees for the duration of the contract. The basis for award of this contract will be comparing the proposed work to the lowest total estimated cost per item by a responsive and responsible bidder. All work will be scheduled as directed by the Superintendent of Public Services or his representative. Work shall proceed during the Highway Department's regular working hours: 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Monday through Friday or as directed. To include night applications with associated lighting at no additional cost.
