Unity CUSD No. 4 Board of Education will receive bids for replacing windows at Unity Middle School in Mendon, Adams County, Illinois. Bidding documents including drawings, project manual, addenda, list of plan holders of record, and bid tabulations will be available in Adobe PDF format at www.klingnerplanroom.com. Bidders are strongly encouraged to register at the website as a Prime Bidder or Sub-Contractor to ensure timely receipt of bidding documents and notices and to be listed as a plan holder. The owner and engineer are not responsible for any incompleteness of bidding documents made available from sources other than the website. Printing and shipping fees for hard copies are the responsibility of the contractor. There is no charge for bidding documents provided in Adobe PDF format. All proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond executed by a corporate surety company satisfactory to Unity CUSD #4, a bank cashier's check, an irrevocable letter of credit, or a properly certified check payable to Unity CUSD #4 for not less than 5 percent (5%) of the amount bid, or for the amount listed in the specifications. Unity CUSD #4 reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities. The owner reserves the right to determine the qualifications of any and all contractors to perform the required work. No bid may be withdrawn after the bid opening. Bidders are notified that not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor shall be paid to all workmen performing work under this contract. Bids may be held by Unity CUSD #4 for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding of the contract.
