Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Dowagiac, Michigan. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; for paving for a road / highway; and sidewalk / parking lot.

Work includes milling Front Street from 400' south of Dowagiac Creek Bridge to High Street to existing concrete pavement and replacing with two lifts of asphalt to proposed grade. Additionally, milling from High Street to Park Place is included. New curb and storm sewer will be installed to reduce the width of the roadway and incorporate on street parking. New sidewalk, curb ramps, lighting, and streetscape elements are to be installed as well. Existing overhead electric lines are being buried. Chestnut Street from Pennsylvania Avenue to Front Street, including the intersection, will be fully reconstructed with new asphalt, curb, sidewalk, curb ramps, storm sewer, and streetscape elements. The existing storm sewer outfalls will be reduced and shifted away from the Dowagiac Creek Bridge. All proposed improvements are more particularly described in plans and specifications. Bid packages must be sealed and include the project title and number, company/vendor name, address, contact email, and phone number on the envelope. Bid packages must be on the City of Dowagiac's Contractor's Bid for Public Work Form, accompanied by a copy of a Bid Bond or Certified Check for not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid plus any alternates. The City reserves the right to request supplemental information from bidders and may conduct random inquiries of bidders' current and previous customers. The Dowagiac City Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept a full or partial award of the bid or bids which, in its judgment, is in the best interests of the City of Dowagiac.
