Renovation of a water / sewer project in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Closing Time: 2:00 PM (NT) The Backwash Tank is located at the Exploits Regional Water Treatment Plant in New Bay, approximately 15 kilometers north of the Town of Grand Falls - Windsor. The Regional Standpipe is located approximately 700 m south of the water treatment plant. The work includes but is not limited to the following: 1. Exploits Regional Water Treatment Plant Backwash Tank: a. Provide all labour, tools, equipment and materials for the complete removal and replacement the existing interior and exterior coating systems of the Exploits Regional Water Treatment Plant Backwash Tank. b. Welding repairs and grinding if required. c. Tank repairs and upgrades including ladder replacement and safety system upgrades; vent repairs; new handrail on top of tank; new manway; existing manway bolt replacement. d. Coordinate the scheduling of tank downtime in consultation with the Owner. The timing for taking the tank offline must be aligned with the operational and backwash requirements of the water treatment plant. Prior to commencing any work, formal approval from the Owner is required to proceed. 2. Exploits Regional Standpipe: a. Tank repairs and upgrades including install mesh on mushroom vent; install duckbill valve on overflow pipe; new sampling port; cathodic protection anode replacement.
