Site work and new construction of a power facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Completed plans call for the construction of a power facility; and for site work for a power facility.
MCW Custom Energy Solutions is seeking qualified trade contractors and specialty suppliers for upcoming work at 5 Wing Goose Bay, NL. The work includes a site works package for complete civil and underground services to finished grade, a general contractor package to construct the new Central Heating Plant facility (including basement, boiler hall and mezzanine, building envelope, roofing, interior fit-up of support spaces, and coordination of building interfaces), a high voltage electrical package for the new HV system and associated substation works, a process piping and equipment package for plant process systems installation, and remote building mechanical and electrical upgrades to support electrification. Final scopes, limits, and interface responsibilities will be defined in the issued tender documents. The CFB Goose Bay EPC includes requirements related to Indigenous Business Participation. MCW supports these objectives and encourages proponents to consider opportunities for meaningful Indigenous participation as part of their delivery approach. Applicable requirements and reporting expectations will be outlined in the tender documents and contract conditions. Package 2 – Base Building General scope This package covers the complete base building scope required to support the new Central Heating Plant facility, including excavation and earthworks within the building footprint, foundations, basement construction, below-grade slabs, structural superstructure and complete weather-tight building envelope as defined in the tender drawings and specifications. The intent is to deliver a complete, surveyed, and dimensionally verified foundation system, followed by an enclosed building envelope that supports the tenders for interior fit-up and building systems installation scopes. The facility includes a large boiler hall with a mezzanine level and a basement level, with support and administration spaces to be completed under separate interior fit-up tenders. Typical inclusions: Site layout and survey control for foundation works within the building footprint Excavation, shoring (if required), dewatering (if required), subgrade preparation, and engineered fill placement within the building footprint Concrete foundations and substructure as defined in tender, including footings, foundation walls, grade beams, and basement walls Basement and below-grade slabs as defined, including slab preparation, granular base, insulation, vapor barrier, reinforcing, embedded items, and concrete placement finishing Equipment housekeeping pads and foundations that form part of the substructure scope and are shown as cast-in-place elements (including boiler foundations, stack foundation, and housekeeping pads where identified) Sumps, pits, curbs, housekeeping plinths, and concrete housekeeping details that are part of the foundation package, including coordination for drainage and liners where specified Cast-in components and blockouts required for building interfaces (anchor bolts, embeds, sleeves, blockouts, openings, and cast-in plates) for mechanical, electrical, controls, and process systems, where these occur in below-grade or slab elements Backfill at foundation walls and within the building footprint as required, including compaction testing and documentation where specified Concrete testing coordination (as required) and inspection support Structural superstructure as defined in tender, including steel, framing, mezzanine structure, stairs landings, and associated structural components above the foundation interface Exterior building envelope supply and installation, including insulated metal wall panels, aluminum curtain wall, louvers, parapet caps, exterior doors and frames, insulated overhead coiling doors, and the main entrance system Roof assembly and accessories, including tapered insulation to drains, roof drains and accessories for penetrations Weather-tightness and envelope completion, including air vapour barrier continuity, sealants, flashings, trims, and thermal continuity details as specified Coordination of rooftop mechanical equipment supports and penetrations as shown, including curbs, openings, structural supports, and flashings, but excluding equipment supply installation Builder’s work and interface coordination required to support future mechanical, electrical, controls, and process installations, including major sleeves openings, access provisions, and envelope penetrations identified in the tender (boiler breeching, ductwork, louvers, exhaust stack interface, service shaft interfaces) Temporary protection, access control, hoarding, and general coordination required to execute the shell work safely and in sequence with adjacent scopes, as defined in the tender Closeout documentation for foundations, structural, envelope, and general construction shell scope as required Pre-qualification requirements: The CFB Goose Bay EPC includes requirements related to Indigenous Business Participation.
