Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Long Hill, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and road / highway.
The contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, materials, and means to construct various improvements as depicted in the Contract Documents for the Chestnut Street Resurfacing project. Principal items of work for the base bid include, but are not limited to: mobilization, site clearing, installation of drums, breakaway barricades, traffic cones, construction signs, provision of traffic director/flaggers, HMA milling (3" or less), HMA 9.5M64 surface course paving, installation of curb pieces, bicycle safe grates, resetting of existing inlet castings, installation of hot mix asphalt and granite block curbs, traffic marking lines, concrete sidewalks, transverse crosswalks, fertilizing and seeding, and price adjustment allowances for fuel and asphalt. Bids shall be submitted in the bound Project Document Book, left whole and intact. Bids must be in an opaque, sealed envelope, plainly marked with the project name and bidder information. Bidders are required to comply with New Jersey Local Public Contracts Law and Public Works Contractors Registration Act. Bid submissions must include a Bid Guarantee (certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond for not less than 10% of the bid amount, not to exceed $20,000), certificate from a surety company guaranteeing performance and payment bonds (each for 100% of the bid amount), statement of corporate ownership, listing of subcontractors, notarized non-collusion affidavit, notarized bidder's affidavit, acknowledgment of receipt of changes to bid documents, and a bid document submission checklist. Bidders must also comply with equal employment opportunity and affirmative action requirements. The successful bidder will be required to submit an Initial Project Manning Report within three days of notice of award. The contract includes mandatory equal employment opportunity language, Department of Labor safety and health regulations, OSHA compliance, and payment of prevailing wage rates. The Township reserves the right to waive minor defects, reject any and all bids, and accept any bid in the best interest of the Township. *The list of planholders and/or interested bidders is not being tracked by the stakeholders involved with this project.
