Sealed bid proposals are requested for the Shepard Road Resurfacing project. Each bid must contain the full name or names of the party or parties making the bid, along with an affidavit as to interested parties and, for corporations not chartered in Ohio, a proper certificate authorizing them to do business in Ohio. Bidders are required to furnish with their proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code, or a certified or cashier’s check equal to ten percent of the amount bid, payable to the City of Macedonia. The bid security ensures that, if accepted, a contract will be entered into. The price of material and labor must be separately stated in the bid. Bid documents, specifications, and drawings may be obtained as specified, and bidders must use the provided forms of proposal. All contractors and subcontractors should, where practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor. Compliance with equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 and the Governor’s Executive Orders is required. Each proposal must also include evidence of experience on projects of similar size and complexity. The project is to be completed by the required deadline. Bidders must comply with prevailing wage rates as set by the Ohio Department of Commerce. If the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract, the bid guaranty or check will be forfeited as liquidated damages. The Council of the City of Macedonia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities, and accept the bid deemed most favorable to the City.
