Renovation of an educational facility in Cumberland, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 15,000-square-foot educational facility.

Allegany College of Maryland is seeking proposals for removing the old and then furnishing and installing new siding and windows for Building 1 of the student housing complex. The job includes approximately 15,000 square feet of siding, eaves fascia, patio fascia, and patio ceiling soffit, plus 48 windows to be replaced. Any repair of wooden frames of windows or sheathing under siding is to be on a Time & Material basis. Existing siding and windows are to be removed and disposed of in on-site roll off dumpsters provided by the college. Sealed bids in duplicate should be delivered to the specified address. The college reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and request other proposals, and reserves the right to accept any proposal it feels is in the best interest of the college. Existing vinyl siding to be completely removed down to the osb and disposed of in onsite dumpster. All job-related debris will be cleaned up at the end of each day for entire area and disposed of in onsite dumpster including checking for nails with a magnet. Inspection of existing sheathing for defects. If any are found, ACM personnel are to be notified and there is to be a review of the defect. ACM personnel will then review and approve of any replacement with 7/16" OSB on a T&M basis of $75 per hour. All T&M work must be approved by ACM personnel prior to the inception of the work. Install new house wrap according to manufacturer specifications. All seams and joints are to be sealed with flashing tape. Install color coordinated aluminum drip cap flashing over all windows. All penetrations to be sealed with seam tape prior to installation of new siding. Installation of vinyl siding to be in compliance with all manufacturer specifications. Selected contractor is responsible for measuring & ordering all materials. Vinyl siding to be Norandex woodsman Sel D5 Sierra 636608. Corners, j-channel and accessories will be same type/color. All new starter strip must be installed. Fascia eaves, balcony fascia, and patio soffit is to match the existing style/type.
