Lane segments are inspected on a cyclical basis and assigned a condition index. Using this index, along with maintenance history and service requests, a group of lanes have been identified for surface rehabilitation. The objective is to reduce ongoing maintenance costs and improve overall condition rating of the lane network. The Contractor is to provide all labour, equipment, and materials necessary to rehabilitate the selected paved lanes in accordance with project specifications, standards and approved designs. The Contract will complete the following work for each designated lane: Remove and dispose of existing surface material Remove, replace, or rework base materials to improve drainage performance and structural integrity Install or adjust drainage infrastructure as specified or as required to meet design intent Perform all required concrete work, including but not limited to swales, aprons, and related components. Pave each lane to the specified standards The Contractor shall coordinate with all utility owners whose infrastructure may be affected by the rehabilitation work. Responsibilities include: Removing existing surface as required to facilitate utility work Maintain prescribed proximity distances &/or manage utility protection as required If applicable, once utility work is finished, complete rehabilitation per designs and standards. The Contractor will maintain ongoing communication with all relevant stakeholders, including: Adjacent property owners and occupants regarding planned work, scheduling, access, safety, waste collection, and other impacts Private and City Waste & Recycling services to arrange alternate pick-up locations, timelines, reinstatement of regular service The City’s Right-of-way Coordinator, as required Any additional parties as circumstances require Provide traffic accommodation measures as required. Obtain all necessary excavation permits prior to commencing work. Preserve all survey monuments located within or adjacent to the work area, including property markers and Alberta Survey Control Monuments.
