Renovation of a fitness / recreation center in Aiken, South Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 6,000-square-foot, one-story above grade fitness / recreation center.
Architectural and structural drawings and specifications were developed by the ARCOLLAB team as bid-ready construction documents for stabilization and weatherization repairs. The construction documents have been approved by the SCDAH as having met the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties Guidelines for Rehabilitation. Construction activities must adhere to these standards. Due to funding limitations, project work will be performed in Phases. The phases are based on recommendations provided in the Facility Conditions Assessment that was prepared by ARCOLLAB prior to the development of the construction documents. The Facility Conditions Assessment documents existing conditions and outlines priorities for implementation of repairs. Replacement of roof and gutter/downspout system; repairs to porch, exterior stucco walls, window casings, porticos, exterior paint, and other exterior repairs at the historic Fermata Gymnasium in Aiken. Requests for information or clarification (RFI) shall be made in writing to the Fermata Club no later than April 7, 2026 at 5 pm via email thefermataclub@gmail.com
