The Societe de l'assurance automobile du Quebec is soliciting bids for the acquisition of construction services under the contract for Installation of roof mechanical units - Centre de services Henri-Bourassa. The contract resulting from this call for tenders is to carry out construction work, including architecture, mechanics, plumbing and electricity disciplines for the installation and commissioning of the mechanical roof units at the Henri-Bourassa service centre. The contractor must therefore be able to provide expertise and services related to various construction works including building mechanics and electricity disciplines. SUBMISSION GUARANTEE The Contractor must submit a bid security valid for 45 days from the date and time of the closing date for receipt of bids. This guarantee must represent at least 10% of the amount submitted. The guarantee must be in the form of a tender bond issued in favour of the Company by a company legally entitled to act as surety and this bond must comply with the provisions of the model bond provided in the annex. The Company retains the tender guarantee of the lowest compliant bidder until the time of conclusion of the contract. It also retains the tender guarantee of the second and third lowest compliant bidders up to 45 days or until the time of conclusion of the contract. PERFORMANCE GUARANTEE Before the conclusion of the contract, the contractor whose name will be retained will be required to provide a performance bond in an amount equivalent to 50% of the contract amount, provided in the form of a guarantee issued by a company legally authorized to act as guarantor, in accordance with the third paragraph of section 12 of the Regulation respecting construction contracts of public bodies. This suretyship must be issued in favour of the Societe de l'assurance automobile du Quebec and comply with the provisions of the bond model provided in the appendix. If defects, omissions or poor workmanship are reported to the contractor and he refuses or neglects to remedy them, the Company may use the performance guarantee to enforce, as it sees fit, additional work ordered or to obtain compensation for defects, omissions or defective workmanship found. The performance guarantee must be valid for the entire duration of the contract. In the case of a bond submitted electronically, it must be such that it can be verified by the Corporation without requiring a password or payment of fees. It must be readable, printable and capable of being saved in electronic file formats recognized as acceptable to the Company and constituted into a single file. Acceptable formats include PDF.
