This project will consist of demolition and removal of two doors, an existing coffee bar, existing closet, and existing entry door, creating a closet in a new location, infill of two doors, new bulletproof aluminum entry system with wood door, minimal electrical updates, and new ceiling tile in full accordance with the specifications. A satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder or a certified bank cashier's check in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the bid must be submitted with each bid. Only these forms of security will be accepted, and failure to submit them will result in disqualification. A performance bond and a labor and material payment bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract, will be required. A certificate of insurance showing the required insurance must be provided in accordance with the specifications. The work must be commenced at the time stipulated by the owner in the Notice to Proceed and be fully completed within the contractor-provided, owner-approved schedule. Prior to a contract being awarded, a resident bidder of the Commonwealth shall be given a preference against a non-resident bidder registered in any state that gives or requires a preference to bidders from that state. The contractor shall ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, religion, color, sex, national origin, age, or disability. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids in accordance with the City of Paducah's Code of Ordinances and the project specifications.
