**As of April 1, 2026, project was postponed in a week. No definite date for the rebid.** Sealed proposals are invited for the AIDB Gentry Dorm HVAC Replacement in Talladega, Alabama. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, in an amount not less than five percent of the bid, but not more than $10,000, must accompany the proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance as specified in the bid documents will be required at contract signing. Bid documents may be obtained at the office of Smith, Stegall & Associates for a deposit of $50 per set, refundable for up to the first two sets for each bona fide bidder upon their return in good condition within ten days of the bid date. Additional sets may be obtained with the same deposit, refund less printing and handling costs. Bids must be submitted on forms furnished by the Engineer. Bidders exceeding certain amounts must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must display the current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors. All bidders are invited to attend a pre-bid conference. The employee attending the pre-bid conference must have qualifications and experience with the type of construction to be performed within this project. Nonresident bidders must include a written attorney's opinion from their state regarding any preference laws for public contracts. The bid bond and checks from unsuccessful bidders will be returned upon awarding the contract or rejection of all bids. The bond from the successful bidder will be returned when the contract and bonds are accepted and approved.
