Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to a mixed-use development in Owensboro, Kentucky. Working plans call for the addition of a 31,600-square-foot, 125-bed detention facility; for the renovation of a 102,400-square-foot detention facility; for the demolition of a detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
Plans call for the addition to an existing detention center that will add 125 bunks and the renovation of the kitchen, laundry, and recreations areas, surveillance and security upgrades, and a large program space for a chapel. As of May 7, 2026, the project has received full approval from Daviess County. The project is expected to bid to general contractors in June or July of 2026. Although a start date has not been disclosed, construction is expected to take two years once beginning.
