The project consists of the removal and replacement of three engines, gear reducers, and drive shafts for 48-inch vertical propeller pumps at the Bertrand-Vinning Pump Station. Question Deadline 04/03/2026 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing, Questions received less than five days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered. Bidders must be properly licensed Contractors in accordance with Louisiana statutes for the classification of Heavy Construction and provide evidence of proper licensing effective at the time bidding documents are requested. A bid security in the amount, form, and conditions specified in the Information for Bidders must be submitted with each bid, with acceptable sureties as listed on the U.S. Department of Treasury Circular 570. The work under this Contract shall consist of furnishing all materials, tools, water, electricity, superintendence, labor, testing, and incidentals required for: (1) the complete removal and salvage of 3 engines, gear boxes and drive shafts servicing 48-inch vertical propeller pumps, (2) providing and installing 3 new engines, gear reducers, and drives shafts to the existing 48-inch vertical propeller pumps, and (3) and all other related work as shown on the Plans and hereinafter specified. 1.1.2 Location The work location is at the Bertrand-Vinning Pump Station; 124 Opperman Lane, accessible from U.S. Hwy. 90 within the unincorporated community of Bayou Vista, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana. 1.1.3 Contract Documents Three (3) sets of full-size contract drawings and specifications will be furnished to the Contractor without charge. Reference publications will not be furnished. Immediately check furnished drawings and specifications and notify the Engineer of any discrepancies. 1.1.4 Work Items The work items shall consist of, but not limited to, the following general items with component parts as described in detail in the Specifications and as shown on the Plans: a. Mobilization and demobilization, b. Removal of salvage of three (3) existing engines, gear boxes, and drive shafts, c. Furnishing and installing three (3) new gear reducers and drive shafts; and d. Furnishing and installing three (3) new diesel fueled engines Official bid documents may be downloaded from Central Bidding or obtained from Miller Engineers and Associates, Inc. for a set fee. Deposits are refundable for unmarked, good condition documents returned within ten days after receipt of bids, subject to specific terms for prime bidders and additional sets. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Bertrand-Vinning Pump Station; all prospective bidders must attend the entire meeting to be eligible to submit a bid. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids per Louisiana statutes. Bids received after the specified time will not be considered. Bidders may withdraw their bid within forty-eight hours after bid opening, excluding weekends and legal holidays.
