Renovation of an educational facility in West Burlington, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project consists of the general interior demolition/remodeling of selected classrooms, offices, and restrooms at 1500 W Agency Rd in West Burlington, Iowa. The scope of work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following: limited asbestos abatement, new interior walls, laminate-faced wood doors, hollow metal doors and frames, aluminum storefront framing, door hardware, glazing, painting, flooring, acoustical tile ceilings, drywall ceilings, casework, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and lighting (as indicated). Question Deadline 04/03/2026 Technical questions regarding interpretations of the bidding documents shall be directed via email to Russell Brissey of Klingner & Associates, P.C. at 319.752.3603; rbrissey@klingner.com, not City Blue Technologies. Bidder Questions: Submit written questions to be addressed at Prebid meeting minimum of two (2) business days prior to meeting. Bids must be a lump sum basis for a single prime contract as described in the specifications. Bidding documents including Drawings, Project Manual, Addenda, list of Plan Holders of Record, and Bid Tabulations will be available at the specified planroom website. Only one complete set of documents may be obtained per party. Bidders are strongly encouraged to register as a Prime Bidder or Sub-Contractor to ensure timely receipt of bidding documents and notices relevant to this bid and be listed as a plan holder. The Owner and Architect/Engineer are not responsible for any incompleteness of bidding documents made available from sources other than the specified planroom website. Technical questions regarding interpretations of the bidding documents shall be directed to the Architect/Engineer. Each bid shall be made on a form furnished by the Architect/Engineer and shall be sealed in an envelope. The bid bond/bid security shall be five percent and submitted in a separate envelope. The bidder's security shall be in the form of a cashier's check, certified check, certified share draft, or a Bid Bond with corporate Surety satisfactory to the Board of Trustees. The bid shall contain no condition except as provided in the specifications. Bid security shall be made payable to Southeastern Community College. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond both in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the total amount payable by the terms of the Contract. These Bonds will be required within ten days of the issuance of the "Notice of Intent to Award." No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of thirty calendar days after the date and hour set for opening of bids. The Board of Trustees may make the contract award to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting specifications. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities as allowed by law, and to enter into such contract or contracts as deemed in the best interests of Southeastern Community College. Additionally, the Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to not proceed with the project. All bidders must provide a statement regarding the bidder's resident status on the form designated by the Iowa Department of Labor Commissioner. The statement must be signed by an authorized representative of the bidder. Failure to provide a completed statement may result in the bid being deemed nonresponsive and rejected. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and/or produced within the State of Iowa. In accordance with Iowa statutes, a resident bidder shall be allowed a preference as against a non-resident bidder from a state or foreign country if that state or foreign country gives or requires any preference to bidders from that state or foreign country, including any form of preferential treatment to bidders or laborers from that state or foreign country. The preference allowed shall be equal to that given or required by the other state or foreign country.
