The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY) is seeking proposals from Construction Managers capable of providing preconstruction services during design, construction management, and construction implementation for the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, Institute for Basic Research, Building 29 Renovations & Decommissioning Services at 1050 Forest Hill Rd, Staten Island, New York. The project uses a CM-Build delivery method, similar to Construction Manager-at-Risk but with a Maximum Contract Price established after trade packages are procured. The overall goal for Building 29 is to renovate both the interior and exterior to allow for re-occupancy, with the building configured into two main areas: one half facing 3rd Avenue for a future Learning & Education Center, and the other half facing the college for conference, meeting, and training use. Proposers must review the qualification and certification requirements to determine eligibility, file a vendor responsibility questionnaire, and adhere to all relevant New York State laws regarding procurement and business registration. DASNY encourages partnerships with New York State certified MWBE/SDVOB firms and includes specific goals for MWBE and SDVOB participation. Responses must be submitted in the full legal name of the proposer and comply with all instructions provided in the solicitation. The entire campus was constructed between 1930 and 1941. Building 29 is one story with full basement (plus a small subcellar connected to campus wide tunnel system). The building has a footprint of approximately 22,000 SF (+/-44,000 SF total area).
