The work to be performed includes demolition of the existing Odor Control Scrubber and associated chemical tanks and appurtenances, and installation of a new Carbon Adsorber system including foul air intake piping modifications. The contractor is required to provide a temporary Odor Control System during construction to ensure uninterrupted odor control operations for the Sludge Holding Tank and Dewatering facility. The scope also includes replacement of six existing mixers with hyperboloid mixers and aerator systems, installation of new mixer Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), modification of existing access hatches, air piping modifications, replacement of level sensor instruments, and addition of Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) sensors at the Sludge Holding Tanks. Replacement of RAS & WAS pump stations valves and piping above and below grade is also required. Additionally, the project involves replacement of two Chlorine Contact Basin slide gates, concrete repair due to cracks, and recoating at basin walls. The contractor must provide a full bypass system to allow flow to continue past the Chlorine Contact Basins to the clarifiers while the CCB is offline for repairs. Other work includes installation of a 16-inch owner-furnished pressure sustaining valve on the effluent transfer pipeline, replacement of two Equalization tank isolation valves, installation of a new 8-inch water main from High Service Pump station A to the Plant Water Pump station pipe header, including a new backflow assembly and fire hydrant, and electrical and instrumentation and controls work related to the scope of work as shown in the drawings. The contractor must have a Florida Certified General Contractors License and/or Florida Certified Building Contractors License and must have worked on three projects of similar size and scope in the past five years. Attendance at a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit is required. Contractors are responsible for bringing any required subcontractors to these events.
