Sealed bids are requested for Detectable Warning Devices per attached Specifications and Stipulations. Bids may be submitted online at the specified website, mailed, or hand delivered to the City Hall. The policy states that late bids will not be opened. Bids will be opened at a meeting of the Rutland City Board of Finance and read aloud. Questions concerning bid specifications should be directed to the Department of Public Works. General : The City of Rutland is requesting bid pricing on ADA Compliant Detectable Warning Devices for sidewalk ramp installations . Material : Detectable Warning Devices shall be constructed of Cast Iron in compliance with ASTM A - 48 Standards and be fully compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act Accessibility Guidelines ( ADAAG ) . Detectable Warning Devices shall consist of raised truncated domes with a diameter of nominal 0.9 in ( 23 mm ), a height of nominal 0.2 in ( 5 mm ) and a centerto - center spacing of nominal 2.35 in ( 60 mm ) and shall contrast visually with adjoining surfaces , either light - on - dark , or dark - on - light . All DWD's shall be connectable either by bolts or interlocking devices cast into the plates . All DWD shall be natural finish .
