The project includes roof replacement of approximately 27,950 square feet, involving removal and disposal of the existing roofing system down to the gypsum/tectum roof deck. The new work includes installation of insulation, cover board, and an adhered single-ply membrane roofing system with new flashings, termination bars, and sheet metal. Each bid shall be accompanied by bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid, in the form of a bid bond, cashier’s check, certified check, or certified share draft payable to the Boyer Valley Community School District. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Labor, Material, and Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract. Should the successful bidder fail or neglect to furnish satisfactory bonds or enter into a contract within the time required, the bidder’s security may be retained by the Owner as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after the date and hour set for opening bids. Product substitutions and questions regarding the bidding documents shall be directed to the Architect and must be received in writing or by email no later than four (4) calendar days prior to the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to hold all legitimate bids for a period of thirty (30) days after the date fixed for the opening thereof. The Owner further reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities or irregularities, and to rebid the project until a satisfactory bid is received. The project will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder as determined by the Owner. By virtue of statutory authority, preference will be given to labor, materials, products, and supplies found or produced within the State of Iowa.
