As of April 30, the project was awarded to Nardulli Construction Company, Inc., with an awarded amount of $343,993.35. The scope of work consists of constructing a new five-foot-wide PCC sidewalk along Indiana Street from Crestview Avenue to Wrightwood Avenue. This includes driveway removal and reconstruction, sodding and landscape restoration, ADA improvements, pavement patching, and all associated work necessary to complete the project as shown on the plans and as described herein. Instructions to bidders require all proposals to be submitted on the provided forms and in compliance with the instructions. Submission of a bid serves as assurance and warranty that the bidder has examined the plans, the site, and the local conditions affecting the contract, and understands all requirements for performance of the work. The bidder is responsible for all errors in its proposal resulting from failure or neglect to conduct an in-depth examination. Contractors performing asphalt, concrete, and sewer work must be pre-qualified by the Illinois Department of Transportation. Each bid must include a proposal guaranty in the form of a bid bond, bank cashier's check, or certified check payable to the City of Elmhurst for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid. The City of Elmhurst reserves the right to waive technicalities and to reject any and all proposals for any reason deemed in the best interest of the City. Award of contract will be made to the lowest responsive responsible bidder, and the successful bidder must provide a Labor and Material Payment Bond and a Performance Bond, each in the total amount of the contract sum. The general prevailing rate of wages in DuPage County, as ascertained by the Illinois Department of Labor, must be paid for each craft or type of worker needed to execute the contract or perform the work, including for legal holiday and overtime work.
