Renovation of an educational facility in Ashland, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Plans and specifications are for viewing purposes only. Official sets must be obtained from McKee and Associates to bid. Sealed proposals are requested for window replacement at Ashland Elementary School for the Clay County Board of Education in Ashland, Alabama. All bidders are required to visit the site and examine existing conditions prior to submitting their proposal; this visit is to be arranged by the contractor with the school. Bidders must have general liability and workman's compensation insurance. The project shall be bid excluding taxes. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms provided by the Architect or copies thereof. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted. A certified check or Bid Bond payable to Clay County Board of Education in an amount not less than five percent of the amount of the bid, and not more than $10,000, must accompany each bidder's sealed proposal. Performance and statutory labor and material payment bonds will be required at contract signing. Bidders in amounts exceeding the state licensing threshold must be licensed under Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding; this license number must be displayed on the outside of the sealed envelope containing the proposal. Project documents can be reviewed and printed from the McKee website. Only documents published through this procedure are endorsed by the Architect. Addendums will be provided to entities that have confirmed bidding. The Architect retains ownership and copyright of the documents. Printed sets, if required, must be requested from the Architect and returned in reusable condition within ten days after bid opening. All RFIs and RFAs regarding the bid documents must be submitted via the forms found in the project manual; only these forms will be accepted and only by email. Telephone or fax inquiries will not be accepted. The contractor is required to ensure proper supervision of all work.
