The project is located at the WDFW Sol Duc Hatchery, 1423 Pavel Road, Beaver, Clallam County, Washington: Township 30N, Range 13W, Section 36. One of the goals identified by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is to increase production of Chinook Salmon. To support this objective, the Sol Duc Hatchery proposes to accommodate the production of approximately one million sub-yearling summer Chinook salmon, helping to offset the steady decline in salmon abundance and distribution. To meet this production target, additional incubation and rearing facilities will be constructed at the Sol Duc Hatchery. These improvements will expand hatchery capacity to support future production of up to one million fish. While current facilities already produce a portion of this total in addition to other species under historical production goals, this project will reduce fish densities in existing ponds, improve overall fish health, and enable increased future production to fully achieve the one million fish goal. The scope of this project is to construct three (3) new thirty (30) foot round fiberglass rearing ponds, three (3) new concrete raceways, two (2) partial Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (pRAS), a pollution abatement pond, two (2) PEMB structures, modifications to the drain system, including an additional drum filter and housing, upgrades to the existing water supply structure, and all the associated piping, equipment, electrical and site work required to support the new facilities. Provide all materials, labor, equipment, and miscellaneous items necessary and incidental for the following bid items as shown and specified in the contract documents. Engineer's Estimate: $8,149,589.17 Provide all labor, materials, equipment, and permits to construct three new thirty-foot round fiberglass rearing ponds, three new concrete raceways, and a new larger pollution abatement pond, all within the existing hatchery footprint at the Department's Sol Duc Hatchery, located at 1423 Pavel Rd, Beaver, Washington, 98305, in Clallam County. This Public Works Project is subject to prevailing wage requirements. Attendance at the pre-bid walkthrough at the project location is required. Only bidders who attend and properly sign in will be considered eligible to submit a bid. If the project is estimated at or above one million dollars, a mandatory 15 percent Apprentice labor hours of the total labor hours are a requirement of this contract. Minority and Women's Business Enterprises are encouraged to participate in the bidding as prime contractors, subcontractors, or suppliers. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked as specified. All bids must include required documents and follow the format described. Bids submitted after the deadline, or by contractors not attending the required pre-bid walkthrough, will be rejected.
