The material required is self-supporting steel poles. The equipment must be in accordance with the specifications and proposed form of contract now on file in the offices of Brookings Municipal Utilities, Brookings, South Dakota. Bids must be made on a bid form furnished by the Engineer and accompanied by either a certified check, cashier's check, or bank draft payable to Brookings Municipal Utilities in a sum equal to five percent of the total bid, or by a bid bond in a sum equal to ten percent of the total bid. The sealed envelope containing the bid must be clearly marked “BID ENCLOSED – Furnishing SELF-SUPPORTING Steel Poles – 3M Tap – 115 KV transmission line modifications” on the outside. Delivery of anchor bolts and self-supporting steel poles shall be by the dates set forth in the instructions to bidders. Brookings Municipal Utilities reserves the right to defer acceptance of any bid for a period not to exceed thirty days after the date bids are received and no bid may be withdrawn during this period. Brookings Municipal Utilities also reserves the right to waive irregularities and to reject any or all bids as deemed to be in the best interest of the utility.
