WJE No 2024.2537 The Town of Berlin is seeking qualifications and cost proposals from qualified firms for moisture mitigation, flooring replacement, and related work at Berlin High School. PROJECT DESCRIPTION A. The Project consists of demolishing existing flooring, installing moisture mitigation to the existing floor slab and installing new flooring for approximately 115,000sf of the existing Berlin High School, 139 Patterson Way, Berlin, CT, as shown and described on Contract Documents prepared by Jacunski Humes Architects, LLC, Berlin, CT WORK SEQUENCE / CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE A. The Work will be conducted in sequence to provide the least possible interference to the activities by all subcontractors and work required by the Owner. All the work shall be conducted during periods when school is not in session, primarily during the summer of 2026 from approximately June 15 through August 15 and during the summer of 2027 from approximately June 15 through August 15. Work shall be scheduled so as not to interfere with in-school activities taking place when school is not in session. Areas of work that are started during a period where school is not in session shall be fully complete including demobilization by the next time school activities resume. B. The Construction sequence anticipated is as follows: 1. General Contractor shall coordinate with Owner and schedule out the entire job prior to start of construction. 2. General Contractor to secure portion of total work area from public access and define construction area. Code compliant exiting must be preserved for remainder of school at all times. 3. Owner's forces shall evacuate the work area of all furnishings and moveable equipment. Owner shall be responsible for cost of labor to remove furnishings and return furnishings once per work area. If for any reason that is the responsibility of the Contractor, that furnishings are required to be moved more than once per work area, contractor shall reimburse the Owner for the cost of that labor or provide the labor at no additional cost.
