Site work and new construction of a fitness / recreation center in Tampa, Florida. Design plans call for the construction of a fitness / recreation center.
Hillsborough County approved a modification to the County’s Tourist Development Plan for FY 2026 and FY 2027 and a corresponding FY 2026 budget amendment to allocate additional funding for the Indoor Athletic Facility Project located on the MOSI site. The action authorizes the expenditure of $3,018,000 from Tourist Development Tax reserves to the Tampa Sports Authority (TSA) to fund design services and construction administration services for the Indoor Athletic Facility. This funding increases the project budget (CIP No. C83312000) from $2,000,000 to $5,018,000. The Indoor Athletic Facility is a planned building component of the overall redevelopment of the County’s 73-acre MOSI site and is intended to support increased visitation and economic growth.
