A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** The work generally consists of renovating the existing limestone yard/parking area to new asphalt parking at 437 W. Mills Ave, Breaux Bridge, LA, including all new base course construction, asphaltic concrete surfacing, drainage work, and all necessary work to fully complete the project's intent as per plans and specifications. Construction time is 120 calendar days. Liquidated damages are set at $250.00 per day, with no bonuses for early completion. Bids will only be accepted from contractors licensed by the State of Louisiana for the appropriate classification. Bidders must provide bid security in the form of a bid bond of not less than 5 percent of the bid amount plus all additive alternates. The successful bidder must furnish a performance and payment bond equal to 100% of the contract amount, written by a company licensed in Louisiana and compliant with applicable state requirements. Bids shall be accepted only from contractors licensed for Building Construction, Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction, or Heavy Construction, and who meet all licensing requirements of the State of Louisiana. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of all bids. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities incidental thereto. Bids may be submitted electronically or by mail/hand delivery in accordance with state law. Contractors submitting electronic bids must provide original hard copies of documents within 48 hours of bid opening or be deemed nonresponsive. Every request for such an interpretation shall be made in writing and addressed and forwarded to the Owner's authorized representative seven (7) or more calendar days before the date fixed for opening the bids.
