Sealed bids are requested by D'Arbonne Woods Charter School from general contractors for the construction of a re-roofing project for D'Arbonne Woods Charter School, Project No.: DWCS031826. Complete bid documents are available electronically at www.centerlinebidconnect.com. Printed copies are not available from the Designer, but arrangements can be made through most reprographic firms, with plan holders responsible for their own reproduction costs. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held, and bids will only be accepted from contractors who attend the entire conference. The successful bidder is allowed 90 calendar days to complete the project from the date in the Notice to Proceed. Liquidated damages of $500 per consecutive calendar day will be assessed for work not substantially complete within this period. The project is classified as Building Construction. All bids must be accompanied by bid security equal to five percent (5%) of the base bid and all additive alternates, in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond written by a company licensed in Louisiana and countersigned by a resident, licensed agent. No bid bond for less than five percent (5%) is acceptable. The cost estimate is $350,000. The successful bidder must provide a performance and payment bond for 100% of the contract amount by a company licensed in Louisiana and countersigned by a resident licensed agent. The contract will be awarded based on the Instructions to Bidders. The non-collusion affidavit and other required documents must be hand delivered by the apparent low bidder within 5 business days of the bid opening. No bid may be withdrawn for 45 days after the opening except as provided by law. Only contractors licensed according to Contractor's Licensing Law, R.S. 37:2151-2163, will be considered if their bid exceeds $50,000, and the license number must appear on the exterior of the bid envelope and above the required signature. The owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities. The owner is exempt from state and local sales tax. Bid proposals must be prepared on a tax-free basis, and all contractors and subcontractors must comply with all requirements to maintain tax-free status. Contractors and subcontractors bear the loss if they fail to comply with the tax-free requirements.
