Sealed bids are requested for the purchase of quarry stone and road construction materials. All materials must meet PennDOT specifications and standards as provided in Publication 408, as amended. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the Township, in a sealed envelope clearly marked “Quarry Stone Bid,” and accompanied by a proposal security of ten percent of the bid amount in the form of a certified check, bank cashier's check, or satisfactory bid bond naming the Township of Stroud as payee. Bids cannot be withdrawn for sixty days after the designated receiving, opening, or reading date. The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond in the amount of fifty percent of the bid, naming the Township of Stroud as payee. Contracts will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder for each material bid. The Board of Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, to waive defects or irregularities, and to reject any proposal not deemed in the best interest of the Township.
