Site work and paving for a road / highway in Ogden Dunes, Indiana. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
The Project consists of replacing sidewalk ramps and milling and replacing asphalt within the City of Portage. Sealed bids are requested for a street paving and repair project. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check for not less than ten percent of the total amount of the bid, payable to the City of Portage Board of Public Works and Safety. Bid security will be returned to all except the three lowest responsible bidders within fifteen days after opening. The remaining securities will be returned within fourteen days after the successful bidder has executed the contract and related documents. Bids may be withdrawn prior to the scheduled opening, but no bid may be withdrawn for sixty days afterward except as specifically permitted. The successful bidder and all levels of subcontractors must agree to accept the provisions of the Responsible Bidding Practices and Submission Requirements ordinance as approved by the City of Portage Common Council. Bidders are directed to review the time schedule and liquidated damages for delayed completion as provided in the Instruction to Bidders. Contracts will be entered into between the City and the successful bidders, with awards going to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. The City will also consider any other relevant facts or matters allowed by law. The City will ensure that minority business enterprises have full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on the basis of religion, race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, or low income. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids for failure to comply with requirements or at its discretion.
