The project consists of the renovation of an existing building, including but not limited to, two additions, site work, accessibility compliance, new mechanical, plumbing and fire sprinkler system. Proposals must be complete and cover the entire work, materials, and improvements unless specified otherwise in the specifications. Proposals must be sealed and submitted on forms furnished by the Public Works Director. Each proposal must be accompanied by cash, cashier's check, certified check, or bid bond in a sum not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid amount. The contractor must possess a B-General Building Contractor license at the time of the bid and for the duration of the contract. The prevailing wage rates as determined by the California Department of Industrial Relations apply to this work. A mandatory pre-bid walk is required; bids from firms that do not attend will be deemed non-responsive. No proposals will be considered unless made on the required forms, sealed, and properly addressed. Each proposal must identify the bidder's name and address on the envelope. Each bid shall separately state the price for each item as well as the total contract price. Proposals may not be withdrawn for ninety (90) days after the opening. Bidders are advised to review insurance requirements in advance. No contractor or subcontractor may be listed or awarded a contract unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations. The County reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or any part thereof and to waive any errors or informalities in any proposal.
