Renovation of a detention facility in Wadesboro, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.
Invitation to bid is hereby given for Exterior Stair Replacement at the Anson County Sheriff's Office and Jail. Bid Specification and Construction Documents are found on the specified website. 1. Protection: Provide temporary barricades, fences, and other forms of protection to protect the Owner's personnel, public, and tenants from injury due to the work. Provide protective measures as required to provide free and safe passage of the Owner's personnel and tenants to the occupied portions of building. 2. Selective Demolition: Selectively demolish and legally dispose of the existing concrete stairs, metal railings, and other stair components, as indicated in the Contract Documents. 3. Undercut and Backfill: Undercut the existing soils to the depth indicated in the Contract Documents and legally dispose offsite. Install geotextile and new compacted backfill. Coordinate activities with the Engineer to allow for the specified third-party inspections and testing. 4. Concrete stairs: Install and cure new reinforced concrete stairs. Coordinate activities with the Engineer to allow for specified third-party party inspections and testing. 5. Metal Railings: a. The Contractor will design railing system and anchorage of railing to substrate to withstand structural loads required by Code. Prepare and submit for the Owner and Engineer approval shop drawings of proposed system. Final approved Drawings will be sealed by the Contractor's engineer, licensed in the State of North Carolina. Do not proceed with fabrication until receiving written approval. b. Furnish, fabricate, deliver, and install new, approved aluminum railing and support base anchorage system. 6.
