Demolition, site work and new construction of a water / sewer project in Glencoe, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project; for the demolition of a water / sewer project; and for the construction of a water / sewer project.

Major components of the work include: erosion control; structural sheeting, shoring and dewatering required for the excavation; construction of a new submersible lift station with wet well and valve vault; electrical work (equipment rack, control panel, site light, instrumentation and control); generator as a bid alternate; coating wet well and valve vault against corrosive gases; extension of sewer main for future growth; driveway and pavement improvements; installation of a security fence with gates around the lift station; sanitary sewer improvements; connection to the existing forcemain and gravity lines from the newly constructed station; continuous sewage temporary wastewater conveyance during construction; electrical demolition; demolition and abandonment of the existing facilities, including pipe, maintenance holes, and pump station wet and dry well structures; surface restorations; and commissioning equipment. Bids will only be received electronically. Contractors submitting an electronic bid will be charged a fee at the time of bid submission via the online electronic bid service. Prospective bidders must be on the plan holders list for bids to be accepted. Bids shall be completed according to the Bidding Requirements prepared by SEH. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held, and bids will not be accepted from bidders that do not attend this conference. Minimum contractor qualifications for general contractors include successful construction of at least two municipal wastewater lift stations within 5 years prior to the bid opening date, with at least one of these projects having a minimum construction contract amount of $500,000. Submitted bids that do not meet the minimum contractor qualifications will be rejected. Bid security in the amount of 5 percent of the bid must accompany each bid. Contractors must submit a signed statement under oath verifying compliance with each of the minimum criteria in Minnesota Statutes, section 16C.285, subdivision 3. The City of Glencoe reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and informalities, and to award the contract in the best interests of the city.
