This project involves removing two existing water-cooled centrifugal chillers and installing one new 540-ton magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller with a variable speed drive, along with new chilled water and condenser water pumps as specified in the Drawings and Specifications. The scope includes replacing all pneumatic controls in the plant with new DDC controls and performing all associated electrical, rigging, fire protection, and general construction work. The Mechanical Contractor will serve as the Prime Contractor, responsible for securing all required permits, coordinating schedules, and ensuring compliance with national and local codes. All materials must be new, UL-listed, and installed to industry standards, with proper documentation, shop drawings, and refrigerant disposal records submitted. Work will be phased to maintain one operational chiller during weekdays, and any plant shutdowns must occur after hours or on weekends. Factory testing, insurance verification, and coordination with designated County contractors for controls and TAB services are mandatory.
