Renovation of an educational facility in Somerset, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The project consists of window and selective door replacement at North Elementary School, including: 1. Primary work is the replacement of windows with energy-efficient aluminum storefronts and operable windows, as well as the replacement of select hollow metal and overhead doors. 2. Salvaging and reinstalling existing window air conditioners, removing existing fenestration, flashing, and replacing security contacts. 3. Selective interior and exterior demolition as required for the completion of the work, whether or not shown on drawings. 4. All work must comply with the Massachusetts State Building Code and associated architectural, accessibility, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection regulations. General and subcontractors agree to strive to achieve minority and women workforce participation benchmarks of 6.9% for women and 15.3% for minorities. Participation of certified minority, women, and veteran-owned business enterprises is required at benchmarks of not less than 4.2% MBE, 11.9% WBE, and 3% VBE for projects over $150,000. General bidders must be certified by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in Doors and Windows and submit a current DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and signed DCAMM Prime/General Contractor Update Statement. Filed sub-bidders must be DCAMM certified for their trade and submit a current DCAMM Sub-Bidder Certificate of Eligibility and a signed DCAMM Sub-Bidders Update Statement. A bid deposit of not less than 5% of the greatest possible bid amount is required, made payable to Somerset Public Schools. Bids must be submitted electronically as instructed in the bid documents at www.biddocs.com. No hard copy bids will be accepted. Trades for filed sub-bids include Painting and Electrical Work. Bid Forms and Contract Documents are available for review and download electronically at no cost.
