The City of Mackinac Island is accepting bids for the daily cleaning of the public restrooms and the library restroom. The City will provide all cleaning supplies, and only these products are to be used. All restroom-related problems must be reported to City maintenance staff. The library restroom must be thoroughly cleaned once a day. Public restrooms open at 8:00 a.m. daily, with the first cleaning to start at 9:00 a.m., and facilities can only be closed for 10–15 minutes at a time for cleaning during open hours. Restrooms must be checked and cleaned at least every hour they are open. After closing, all restrooms require thorough cleaning, disinfecting, and mopping. The bidder is responsible for laundering and cleaning items needed for the restrooms. Bidders must provide the name, cell phone number, and contact information of the manager responsible for cleaning. If requested, bidders must also provide current workers’ compensation and liability insurance with the City named as additional insured and a coverage limit of at least $1,000,000.00. Bids should be submitted in an envelope marked “Restroom Cleaning Bid” or emailed with the subject line “Restroom Cleaning Bid.” The City of Mackinac Island reserves the right to refuse any and all bids.
