Additional work as indicated. Bids are requested for 2025 - Boiler Replacement & Electrical Service Upgrades at 535 North 1981st Road, Tonica, IL 61370. The project consists of replacement of the existing steam boiler currently serving the single-story west wing of the building and upgrade of the existing electrical service serving the facility, along with additional work as indicated. Work is to be performed under a single prime lump sum contract. Bidders must provide bid security of not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid amount in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond. The successful bidder must provide satisfactory performance and labor & material payment bonds covering the full contract performance, and the costs of these bonds must be included in the bid proposal. Bidders must not discriminate in employment and must provide documentation of participation in apprenticeship and training programs registered with the United States Department of Labor. Compliance with various State of Illinois provisions concerning wage rates, discrimination, sexual harassment, alcohol use, preference to Illinois workmen, fair employment practices, and equal employment opportunity is required. Compliance with the Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Act is also required. The successful bidder is required to pay no less than the prevailing wage rates as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor and comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. All contractor's bonds must guarantee faithful performance of the prevailing wage clause. The successful bidder must furnish and pay for criminal background investigations for all project employees and ensure no employee with a disqualifying background is present on the project. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive irregularities, and award the contract in the owner's best interests. The owner is exempt from the Illinois Use Tax Act and the Retailer's Occupation Tax for this work.
