Renovation of a water / sewer project in New York, New York. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
The project involves rehabilitating Eleanor's Pier, located on the West Side of Roosevelt Island. The scope of work includes three main elements: encasement of piles, replacement of the wood decking, and replacement of the railings. The railing system consists of hollow steel tube posts with metal bar balusters and a wooden topped rail, which are currently corroded and failing due to exposure to salt air along the East River. The railings are embedded in a secondary concrete curb. The project seeks proposals from general contractors for these rehabilitation works. Late bids will not be accepted. RIOC has established a goal of 30% for MWBE participation for this RFP. RIOC has established an overall goal of 6% for SDVOB participation for this RFP.
