Sealed bids are requested for the construction of BCIRP Phase 2B. All bids must be submitted electronically using the County's online bidding system. Only one contract will be awarded for all work. Bids must be made on unaltered Bid forms as included in the Bidding Documents. The project budget is $31,000,000.00. Each bid must include a certified Bid Bond of no less than 5% of the total bid amount; this is retained as liquidated damages if the successful bidder fails to execute the Agreement and file required bonds and insurance within ten calendar days after the Notice of Award. The successful bidder must furnish Payment and Performance Bonds as required and ensure these are executed or countersigned by a licensed resident agent of a surety or insurance company authorized to do business in Florida. Bidders must hold or obtain all necessary contractor's and business licenses, certifications, and registrations as legally required. The owner may conduct investigations to assess the bidder's qualifications and performance record before awarding the contract. The successful bidder must substantially complete all work within 700 calendar days of the Commencement Date, with final completion within 30 calendar days after delivery of the Punch List. Liquidated damages of $9,149 per calendar day will be assessed for delays beyond the substantial completion date. Unless otherwise specified, work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or any bid not conforming to the intent and purpose of the Bidding Documents, and to postpone the award for up to 180 days from the bid opening date without the bidder's consent.
