Kettle Creek Conservation Authority is soliciting quotes from qualified engineering consultants to undertake the necessary work to generate inundation mapping for the entire extent of the Upper Kettle Creek subwatershed (the project study area). This project will focus on new base mapping derived from LiDAR topographic information, which will be provided at the outset of the project; hydraulic analysis to determine water surface elevations, including in-field channel and structure surveys; and flood line delineation on the newly created map and GIS datasets. The project will produce flood inundation mapping with flood levels in watercourses delineated for the 2-, 5-, 10-, 25-, 50-, and 100-year floods and the Regional Storm flood (i.e., Hurricane Hazel Flood Standard), and under the effects of climate change. All components of this analysis shall be consistent with applicable standards and in accordance with relevant provincial and federal technical guidance documents. All maps must be suitable for regulatory purposes, including having final engineering reports and maps stamped by applicable qualified professionals. Inundation mapping for the study area will be developed and implemented to assist with flood forecasting and warning, as well as emergency response, including an access egress assessment during a flood event, and to inform land use planning and permitting decisions.
