Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Baudette, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

The Project involves installation of a new recirculating and U.V.-filtered splash pad system. All Proposals must be in accordance with Documents prepared by Freeberg & Grund. An optional paper set of project documents may be obtained from the Engineer at the stipulated address upon a non-refundable payment of $70.00 for each set. Bid security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total Bid price must accompany each Bid. The successful Proposer will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond guaranteeing faithful performance and payment of all bills and obligations arising from the performance of the Contract. The City of Baudette is an equal opportunity employer. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any or all Bids as they deem to be in its best interest. No Bids may be withdrawn within a period of forty-five (45) days after the date fixed for opening. Components of the overall project include: Installation of a new pavilion building (separate contract) Installation of new sidewalks (separate contract) Installation of concrete flatwork for the splash pad (separate contract) Installation of a new recirculating and UV-filtered splash pad system A general site plan and preliminary floor plan of the pavilion is attached. The services will include the following: 1) Project Coordination i) The selected contractor shall appoint a project manager to be the liaison to the City. ii) Must coordinate updates and milestones to the City engineer. iii) Must attend virtual meeting to talk about project design and project updates. 2) Splash Pad System -The selected contractor shall furnish and install a complete recirculating and UV-filtered splash pad system, including but not limited to: i) Filtration, recirculation, disinfection, UV treatment, pumps, controls, appurtenances ii) Associated piping, valves, fittings, electrical components, and utility requirements iii) All splash pad water features, manifolds, spray components, and related equipment iv) Provide a list and cost for splash pad features that can be selected by the city. 3) Mechanical Room Requirements i) A dedicated mechanical room for the splash pad system is included in the new pavilion building. The room dimensions are 12 ft x 31 1/2 ft (see attached floor plan). ii) Verify that the proposed equipment will fit within the mechanical room and comply with all applicable building and mechanical codes iii) Identify and communicate all required utility conduits (water, sanitary, electrical, control wiring, etc.) needed to enter and exit the room iv) Coordinate with the City and its pavilion contractor on conduit placement and utilities. v) Obtain all permits required for the contractors portion of the work 4) Installation Responsibilities The selected contractor shall: i) Deliver and install all mechanical and electrical equipment within the mechanical room ii) Install all external piping, utilities, drain lines, and appurtenances necessary for the splash pad system, excluding concrete placement. iii) Provide all layout information and dimensional requirements needed for the City to place concrete around the splash pad equipment iv) Once all required utilities, piping, and mechanical components are installed, the City will perform the concrete placement for the splash pad surface. The contractor's work must be completed no later than July 31, 2026 to allow concrete installation to proceed. Operation and Maintenance Responsibilities i) Provide an operations and maintenance manual including manufacturer's detail sheets for each component included in the construction; the manual shall be submitted in draft form for review by City staff; the project shall not be considered complete and any warranty periods shall not begin until the manual has been approved by the City. ii) Provide training to the City on how to operate the system and winterizing the system. iii) Provide a detailed warranty period for each feature and mechanical feature. 6) Define a construction schedule. The City prefers a final completion date not later than September 10, 2026. Anticipated Budget The anticipated budget for this scope of work is $250,000.
