The City of Ames, Iowa is soliciting proposals from qualified and experienced solar photovoltaic firms for the design and installation of roof-mount solar projects at two City-owned facilities. The City will own, operate, and maintain the equipment. Firms must have demonstrated experience in designing, planning, scheduling, permitting, and constructing complete solar systems, provide project financial analysis and rebate support, provide a means for system monitoring, and have established onsite safety standards. Proposals are sought for the Fitch Family Indoor Aquatic Center at 115 N. Elm Ave., and the Steven L. Schainker Plaza at 510 Clark Ave., both in Ames, IA. The preferred method is to submit proposals in AmesBids at amesbids.ionwave.net with all prices and requested data filled in as required. Proposals shall include acknowledgement of receipt of all addenda, with addenda numbers filled in the proposal response. Firms must be registered suppliers to submit a proposal in AmesBids. Proposals must be made in the Response Attachment in AmesBids. The selected proposal will be presented to the approving authority for action after evaluation. Questions and requests for clarification are encouraged and must be submitted in AmesBids or via email. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive informalities, and to make awards as deemed in the best interest of the City. Proposals must be valid for at least 90 days from the closing date and time. In addition, businesses located within Ames City limits who pay commercial property tax may qualify for a 1% local consideration if a notarized Local Business Certificate is submitted with the response.
