The proposed public improvement consists generally of sidewalk infill, driveway reconstruction, intersection reconstruction, and grading activities along Blairs Ferry Road NE, from North Towne Place to Sammi Drive. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. Each bidder must accompany their bid with bid security as defined in Iowa Code Section 26.8, and after the award, furnish a corporate surety bond for the faithful performance of the contract in an amount equal to one hundred percent of the contract amount. All contractors and subcontractors are responsible for pre-employment drug screening of prospective employees and must have a drug and alcohol testing policy conforming to Iowa Code. Preference will be given to products, provisions, and domestic labor grown or produced within the State of Iowa as lawfully required. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and technicalities, and defer acceptance of any proposal for 60 calendar days after the bids have been received and opened.
