Site work for a sidewalk / parking lot in Bettendorf, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The proposed improvements consist of pavement removal, installing granular subbase, street patching, sidewalk replacement, resurfacing a trail with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), and other related work within the City of Bettendorf, Iowa. Before the start of construction, the Contractor shall submit a line of march and schedule of work listing critical path items including curbing, headers, milling, patching, casting adjustment, surface course, base course, and other items as required to establish a time schedule. No work shall start without approval from the Engineer or representative. All work shall be done in strict compliance with the plans and specifications prepared by the Engineer of the Engineering Division of the Public Works Department of Bettendorf, Iowa. All work on this contract shall commence on or after April 27, 2026, as weather permits, and shall be completed by August 1, 2026. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 per calendar day shall be charged for every day past the completion date. All bids must be submitted electronically via the City of Bettendorf's electronic bid submission website. No paper, emailed, or faxed bids will be accepted. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check drawn on an Iowa bank or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States or by a Bid Bond with corporate surety satisfactory to the City of Bettendorf in the amount of ten percent of the bid, made payable to the City Treasurer of the City of Bettendorf, Iowa. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance and maintenance bond equal to one hundred percent of the contract price, guaranteeing the faithful performance of the contract and the maintenance of the improvement for four years from completion and acceptance by the City. All work shall comply with plans and specifications and the determination of the contractor's eligibility for future projects may be influenced by a standardized evaluation upon completion of the work. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technicalities and irregularities if deemed necessary and approved by City Council.
