Site work for a water / sewer project in Carbondale, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Replacement of approximately 800 feet of eight inch water main in the 400 through 500 block of East Main Street, Carbondale, Illinois. This line is to be relocated as it is in conflict with reconstruction of Route 13 for IDOT. Proposals must be submitted on forms provided by the City and marked Bid No. 26-23. Bid security in the amount of 10% of the total bid price, either as a certified bank check, bank draft, or satisfactory bid bond, is required. The project is subject to the State of Illinois Job Works Program Act and the Illinois Works Apprentice Initiative. Contractors must pay not less than the prevailing wage rates for all laborers, workmen, and mechanics and comply with the Illinois Wages of Employees on Public Works Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). No bid may be withdrawn for 45 days after opening without consent of the City. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder complying with the invitation for bids. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informality or technicality in the interest of the City. Bid documents are available from the City's Purchasing Office for a nonrefundable deposit.
