U.S. Bureau of Reclamation Engaging Industry for the Patillas Dam Seismic Retrofit Project The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR), supported by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Caribbean District, is expanding engagement with industry partners to prepare for significant upcoming construction and infrastructure efforts in Puerto Rico. Patillas Dam Industry Outreach Event The USBR will host a two-day industry outreach event on June 11-12, supported by the USACE Caribbean District. The event will bring together engineering firms, contractors, and technical specialists to discuss the ongoing Patillas Dam Seismic Retrofit Project, which is currently in final design by the USBR. The event will take place at the USACE Caribbean District offices. USBRs Project Manager and Project Construction Liaison will provide a detailed design update and answer industry questions. Roosevelt #383 San Juan, PR 00918 9:00 - 10:00 a.m.: Registration 10:00 a.m. - Noon: Project Presentation & Industry Input Session June 12 - Patillas Dam Site Visit 9:00 a.m. - Noon: Vehicles will depart the Estadio Municipal Gaspar Cochran (18.005808, -66.018388) Patillas, Puerto Rico in route to the Patillas Dam at 09:00 a.m. This outreach event supports early coordination with industry, helping interested companies better understand the projects technical requirements and preparing them for future acquisition planning. These requirements include seismic retrofit measures, outlet works reconstruction, and complex construction sequencing. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSAL AND NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. Seismic retrofit construction services for Patillas Dam to reduce the probability of seismic-induced embankment deformations that could result in a dam breach and uncontrolled downstream flooding. Work includes site mobilization; site clearing and grubbing; demolition of the hydro powerhouse; demolition and replacement of the low-level outlet tunnel liner; irrigation canal forebay modifications; construction of downstream embankment toe drain, seepage filter, and shell placement; embankment crest leveling; final grading, seeding, and slope protection; installation of dam safety monitoring instrumentation; final as-built survey; site demobilization; preparation of as-built drawings and specifications; and completion of all required project closeout documentation. . The magnitude of this action is in the range of $250 to 500 million.
