The County of Stettler No. 6, in partnership with the County of Paintearth No. 18, Starland County, the Special Areas Board, and the Province of Alberta, is seeking services for a feasibility study and conceptual design to determine a practical and cost-effective path forward for Boehlke's Pond, a provincially owned site that has experienced infrastructure deterioration and has been inactive since 2017. The study will evaluate two primary options: rehabilitation as a recreational fishery and park, and conversion to a naturalized wetland. The project will result in a recommended preferred option, conceptual design, Class D cost estimates, and an implementation and regulatory roadmap. The study is intended to support decision making, future funding applications, and the long-term management of the site.
