The successful contractor will clear and clean the drainage ditch back to its original parameters at Back Creek & Full Measure Ln. Some projects will require removing fallen trees and naturally occurring dams that restrict water flow, while others will involve excavating leaf litter, debris, and sedimentation to restore the original parameters of the ditch. This is primarily a dredging operation. The cleaning and snagging operation will start at State Route 633 and follow the existing ditch for approximately 650 feet, ending at a designated flagged location. The contractor is responsible for contacting “Miss Utility” to mark any underground wires before starting work. Dredging will be approximately 3 to 4 feet wide and level with the base of the roadside ditch culvert at State Route 633; excavation will not exceed the boundaries of the existing ditch. Soils and debris are to be deposited along the sides of the ditch where possible. No side ditches or streams may be blocked. Written notice to the storm drainage program coordinator is required 24 hours before starting work. All work must comply with the stated specifications and be performed Monday through Friday. Any deviations must be pre-approved. Work must be completed within 30 days of the purchase order or notice to proceed. Bidders should bring hip boots, bug spray, and drinking water for a recommended pre-bid site visit, which must be scheduled in advance and attended with County personnel. Visiting the site alone is considered trespassing on private property.
