Bids are invited for Campus and Student Safety – Access Control and Alarms. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by the District. All bids are to include a completed schedule of unit prices, which will be used to determine the lowest bidder through hypothetical projects prepared by the District. Bids must strictly conform to the Contract Documents. A list of designated subcontractors as required by the Subletting and Subcontracting Fair Practices Act must be submitted. Bidders must provide security with their bid (cash, cashier’s check, certified check, or bidder’s bond) in an amount not less than ten percent of the maximum bid. Separate payment and performance bonds, each in an amount equal to 100% of the contract value, are required. Contractors and all subcontractors shall comply with prevailing wage rate requirements. All payroll records must be electronically submitted to the Department of Industrial Relations. The District reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any irregularities. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure timely delivery and receipt of their bid at the designated location. Pre-qualification Requirements: - Prospective bidders must submit a completed set of prequalification documents on forms provided by the District as a condition of bidding. Bids will not be accepted from contractors who are not prequalified where required. Prequalification documents must be submitted by the specified deadline. Mechanical, electrical, or plumbing (MEP) subcontractors (C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, C-46 license holders) must also be prequalified. All bidders must be licensed contractors under California law to perform the required work. The successful bidder must have a valid and active Class B, C7, C10, C28, C61, D16, and D28 License and must hold a Verkada Diamond Partner certification for at least the previous twelve months or demonstrate equivalent experience and authorization to deliver a cloud-managed access control platform subject to District approval.
